Rambunctiously curious

I’ve finally got my website redesign complete. I decided to keep it nice and clean and not have too many pages going at once.

Why the new title?

A wonderful scientist and twitter/IRL friend described me this way recently in a tweet. At first, I was a tiny bit miffed about the “rambunctious” part. I take the process of my science very seriously and consider myself to be detail-oriented and conscientious. (Obvs I love when other people recognize my curiosity as I think it’s my finest feature).

I realized I might have misunderstood so I looked it up to make sure I knew what it meant. Turns out, I had the definition wrong.

Yes! This is definitely my word. I always thought rambunctious was a negative term used to describe kids when they are being too loud or wild. As I thought on it, I realized I’ve only heard it used to describe the behaviors of boys. Which makes perfect sense.

However, I happily consider myself rambunctious now, and rambunctiously curious for sure. I have loads of days where I feel uncontrollable exuberant and boisterously curious.
